- Opportunities to participate in social club activities and eventsRole and ResponsibilitiesWorking alongside our Wastewater Project Managers, and depending on projects, Senior Wastewater Process Engineers and Environmental Engineers, the successful candidate will participate in a variety of projects that include wastewater collection systems, wastewater treatment and resource recovery facilities, and effluent/biosolids management systems.The role includes leading and coordinating a broad range of technical elements within projects, with specific areas of technical interest to provide additional capability. The role also involves developing the wastewater management area of our core Water practice and mentoring junior professionals.Responsibilities include conduct of studies, preliminary and detailed design, project management, development of cost estimates and tenders, and construction management of wastewater projects. You will also support project pursuit teams in business development activities such as proposal preparation.QualificationsCandidates should have the following qualifications, technical skills / experience, and attributes at a minimum to be considered for this position:- An undergraduate degree in civil, chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering from an accredited university
- A graduate degree in a related engineering field from an accredited university that is relevant to wastewater engineering is an asset
- Eligibility for professional licensing with applicable provincial association (e.g. APEGS, APEGGM, PEO)
- Minimum 10 years’ of engineering experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a specific area of technical interest relevant to wastewater engineering
- 5 years' experience working in a consulting engineering environment
- Effective project leadership, management, and organizational skills, including an ability to manage competing priorities
- Committed team player with experience working with diverse teams, including managers, engineers, and operations and maintenance staff
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to effectively engage audiences, as well as an ability to clearly summarize findings and offer meaningful insight
- An orientation towards client service, including the ability to elicit and understand client needs and desired outcomesSuccessful candidates will be provided with immigration assistance throughout the recruitment process.
