- Standards: Responsible for the development and improvement of Group Electrical and C&I Standards, Specifications, guidelines and procedures. Ensure compliance with Group AATS Standards, including Electrical and Integrity, Isolation of Energies etc. and act as the Fatal Risk Authority for these standards.
- Governance and Assurance Develop appropriate programs to ensure oversight and assurance of Electrical & C&I maintenance activities, ensuring that all electrical equipment, such as motors, switchgears, and MCCs (Motor Control Centers) and control and instrumentation equipment are properly maintained.
- COP: Manage the Electrical Community of practice ensuring shared learnings and best practices. Coach and mentor Electrical fraternity to improve skills, understanding of standards and improve competency.
- Assessments and Assurance: Execute Electrical Integrity Audits as well as assurance (Level 2) reviews of AATS standards for which you are the FRA.
- Reliability: Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems, often collaborating with other areas as required. Participate in major failure root cause investigations as deemed necessary.
- Tactics: Ensure electrical service strategies are developed to ensure capital and resource planning, and maintenance tactics libraries are maintained up to date.
- Condition Monitoring: Mandate the use of appropriate condition monitoring and predictive maintenance tools to drive reliability.
- Technology: Ensure best in class technology is deployed at operations. This includes ensuring that simulation tools such as ETAP are up to date and allows for accurate prediction of electrical systems.
- Projects: Work with SIB and Greenfield project teams to ensure alignment with specifications and norms and conduct design reviews where required.
- Good understanding of NEC Standards , NFPA 70 and SANS Standards, Asset Management , Audit and assurance.
- Ability to:
- project manage small and large projects with a good understanding of discipline interfaces.
- Solve technical and operational issues in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
- Plan, Lead, Organise and Control technical solution delivery using a matrix of internal and external providers and stakeholders.
- Manage, monitors and drives project activities.
- Proactively identifies, mitigate or escalate risks.
- Optimise performance levels of assets through actively monitoring their operation and creating solutions to encourage sustainable use inclusive conducting analysis, data mining and modelling.
